Hydrogenated nitrile rubber(HNBR) is less commonly used compared to nitrile rubber(NBR), which is more prevalent in O-ring seals. However, due to its superior overall performance, hydrogenated nitrile rubber is also frequently utilized in O-ring seals. HAISUN Rubber introduces the main processes and features of hydrogenated nitrile O-ring seals.
Hydrogenated nitrile rubber is a highly saturated elastomer obtained by special hydrogenation of nitrile rubber. It undergoes hydrogenation to saturate double bonds, with complete saturation not suitable for sulfur vulcanization but compatible with peroxide vulcanization. O-rings made from hydrogenated nitrile rubber exhibit excellent oil resistance, with good resistance to fuel oil, lubricating oil, and aromatic solvent.
Characterized by its highly saturated structure, hydrogenated nitrile O-ring seals possess the following features:
1. Excellent heat resistance ranging from -60 to 180 degrees;
2. Outstanding chemical corrosion resistance, with good resistance to fluorine, acids, and alkalis;
3. Superior ozone resistance and high resistance to compression set;
4. High strength, tear resistance, and exceptional wear resistance.
